"Saving one dog will not change the world but surely for that one dog the world will change forever." Author unknown
A picture speaks a thousand words, and for potential adopters scouring the internet for their future animal companions, this holds particularly true. First impressions are vital- a great picture can help to build a connection between animal and adopter. A bad picture can easily be looked over, which for these animals, can mean the difference between a safe, loving home and another night at a shelter.
Our shelter animals have no voice, they cannot tell their future parents that although they might be old, or a little bit broken, that they will love unconditionally despite their hardships. So that's where me and my camera step in....I love being the animal's voice, capturing through pictures just what a perfect and special individual they are.
I specialize in photographing "hard to adopt" dogs and cats, with a particular passion for the ones that might not show so well on camera. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all! I also do photo shoots in foster homes for dogs and cats that cannot come to the shelter for behavioral or medical reasons. Throughout the year, I do themed shoots, which is always an excellent way to showcase the animals in a different light.
I regularly foster dogs through Baypath Humane Society, advocating for the animals in my care through social media campaigns, fuelled by my endless photographing. Rest assured that no animal crosses my threshold without a taciturn agreement that they'll become a proficient model by the end of their foster journey. You can read about my foster dogs and their stories in my blog.
I am a proud member of HeARTs Speak- an organization that unites artists globally who provide pro-bono work for shelter animals. If you need help with promoting a shelter animal or an event then please do not hesitate to contact me.
